"Librarians and teachers will develop age appropriate guidelines supporting students to become digitally literate and appropriate users of information. The team will focus on the work of Common Sense Media, exploring how their digital citizenship program could be used as a base for teaching digital literacy and citizenship skills in the context of content area instruction across all grade levels." Tracy Hubbard, District 65 Library Department
This website is intended as a starting point for teachers when integrating digital literacy lessons into their practice. Lessons have been selected based on the needs of our community, age appropriateness, and natural curriculum match. All lessons and materials posted are the work of Common Sense Media, and have been reviewed by the summer curriculum team of Edie Hertel (Elementary Librarian), Molly Hugen (6th grade Social Studies), Amy Odwarka (Middle School Librarian) and Joyce Shimada (2nd grade).
